Great Vic important information

The trucks are packed, the volunteers are pumped and the towns are ready. It is only days until our fun-filled canvas community rolls into Robe, ready to kick off the greatest Great Vic ever.

Across 10 days, 4,000 riders of all ages and abilities will come together to camp, eat, sleep, party, ride and experience the very best bits of the Great Ocean Road, Limestone Coast and Otways.

Here's a mini-guide with all the information you need so you can get to the Great Vic, set-up easily and have a relaxing start to your riding holiday.

Getting to and from the Great Vic

Bus transport

Buses leave from Melbourne, Adelaide and a number of regional centres, as well as the long-term car parks in Torquay and Port Fairy, at various times to arrive at your start site with plenty of time to get set up in the afternoon.

You can see exact transport times and locations by clicking the button below.

If you haven't sorted how you're getting to the Great Vic, transport is still available but you'll need to be quick. Book your bus ticket now online.

How do I prepare my bike for bus transport?

We recommend using a bike bag or box to transport your bike to and from the Great Vic. Your local bike shop can help you prepare your bike for transport if you’re unsure how to do it.

You won’t have to worry about lugging an empty bike bag/box around for 10 days while you ride as Rotary will take it off your hands and have it ready for you when it’s time to pack up your bike again, for a small fee.

Alternatively, you can transport your bike as is. All we ask is that you remove the pedals and turn the handlebars sideways. It helps us stack the bikes neatly and avoid damage.

There will be team members and volunteers on hand at bus loading if you don’t have the tools to do it yourself.

Long-term car park

The long-term car parks are located in Torquay and Port Fairy. All riders who have reserved a parking spot at a long-term car park will have received an email with specific information about when and where to park your car. All parking must be pre-booked, there is no capacity for drive-ups.

If you are still unsure about your parking arrangements, please contact Bicycle Network today for assistance.

Arriving and departing

Arrival day is a big one, with over 50 coaches of people coming in from across VIC and SA, so please follow signage and marshal directions when you first arrive.

Riders arriving in private vehicles please note:

Access around the event site for private vehicles will be limited, with road closures in place.

Your best option is to enter via Lord Syleham St an onto O’Halloran, and then follow instructions from our team to the private drop-off area.

Please be patient and drive carefully as there will be a lot of heavy vehicles moving through the area.

Riders arriving by coach should follow these three steps following arrival:

  1. Collect your luggage and take your gear to the appropriate camping zone (general, schools, quiet or sleep easy) and get set up.
  2. Once you've set up your site, visit the registration tent to collect your rider pack which includes ride guide, passport and bike and bag tags.
  3. If you arrived on event transport, collect your bike from the bike drop off area at the campsite. It's best to leave this as the last step, as bike trucks are often the last to arrive.
