Heaps of annual leave

Are you passionate about bike riding and active travel? Do you love working with kids and want to help them build confidence on two wheels? We’re looking for enthusiastic Ride2School Bike Ed Instructors to join our team and inspire the next generation of riders!
About the Role
As a Ride2School Bike Ed Instructor, you’ll deliver engaging and interactive bike skills sessions to primary and secondary school students across Greater Melbourne. You’ll teach essential riding skills, road safety awareness, and help kids develop the confidence to ride independently. There is also potential for additional casual work in our broader team for event activations.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver fun, practical, and safe Bike Ed sessions in schools
- Teach students essential bike handling and road safety skills
- Work closely with teachers and school communities to promote active travel
- Support community engagement initiatives like Open Streets
- Ensure every child has a positive experience on a bike
What We’re Looking For
- A confident and experienced bike rider
- Great communication and people skills
- Experience working with kids (teaching, coaching, or similar)
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different schools.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
- A passion for active travel and empowering kids through bike riding!
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Previous experience delivering Bike Education programs
- Have done a Bike Education certification
- A background in teaching, sports coaching, or community programs
- Experience in community engagement or event coordination
- A road safety or active travel background
- Have been a bike mechanic

Role Overview
Deliver a consistently high-quality experience for Bicycle Network members, riders, and the wider community. This role manages inbound and outbound enquiries across membership, events, insurance, Rider Rescue, and advocacy, while supporting member retention, conversion, and engagement.
Reporting & Location
•Reports to: Head of Member Services
•Works closely with: Membership, Advocacy, Events, Marketing
•Location: Melbourne office, primary work location (flexible WFH options available)
Core Responsibilities
•Member & Customer Enquiries
•Respond to all inbound enquiries (phone, email, digital) in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
•Handle high volumes of enquiries relating to:
•Membership types, benefits, renewals, upgrades, and accounts
•Event registrations, logistics, and participation
•Insurance, Rider Rescue, and safety enquiries (with escalation where required)
•Advocacy programs, routes, riding advice, and general Bicycle Network information
•Triage and resolve enquiries efficiently, escalating complex issues as needed.
•Maintain a member-first approach, identifying opportunities to support, retain, or convert members.
•Record all interactions accurately in CRM and membership systems.
Proactive Member Engagement
•When enquiry volumes allow, support outbound engagement activities including:
oRenewal and lapsed-member follow-ups
oFailed payment resolution
oMember retention and conversion campaigns
oHelping members better understand and use their benefits
oEncouraging membership sign-up in-office and at events
Events & Rider Support
•Provide knowledgeable support for Bicycle Network events, including Peaks Challenge, Around the Bay, Great Vic Bike Ride, Ride2Work, and Ride2School.
•Respond promptly to event-related enquiries, particularly during peak periods.
•Work closely with Events and internal teams to ensure consistent, accurate information is provided to riders and participants.
•Support general rider enquiries, recognising their role in member satisfaction and future membership growth.
•Attend All team meetings and GLUE events where possible, putting phones on out of office message during these times.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
•Use CRM, membership, and event systems accurately and confidently.
•Maintain high standards of data quality and record-keeping.
•Follow documented processes and contribute to improving workflows and service standards.
•Take ownership of member outcomes, even when escalation is required.
