National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel and one of the best days on the school calendar. It is a day full of fun and colour where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.

Teachers

Register your school for National Ride2School Day and encourage your students to be active on their journey to school.

Parents

Ask your child’s school if they’re registered for National Ride2School Day and get your kids active on their journey to school.

Councils

Promote the event to your community and encourage your local schools to register for National Ride2School Day.

Win a new bike and helmet

We’re calling on Victorian students to help design the official poster for National Ride2School Day on Friday 20 March 2026. Create a fun, eye-catching poster that inspires others to walk, ride, scoot and skate to school.

The winning design will be shared with schools across Australia, and the student behind it will take home a brand-new bike and helmet!

World Bicycle Relief

The Ride2School program is proud to partner with World Bicycle Relief for National Ride2School Day – helping to change lives through the Power of Bicycles.

We’re encouraging all schools around Australia to help us raise funds for World Bicycle Relief. For every $195 raised, a Buffalo Bicycle is provided to a student in need. You can learn more about what they do at worldbicyclerelief.org.

Bicycle Network’s Ride2School Team would love to make it to every school to help them celebrate National Ride2School Day, but with over 800 schools around the country registered, we decided to make a video instead.
