Sunbury train line shutdown next week

Buses will replace trains between Sunshine and Sunbury for 10 days this month.

Riders who usually take their bikes on the train will be unable to take them on the substitute buses.

Buses will replace trains from 8 pm Saturday 13 August to the last service on Tuesday 23 August.

Major construction is continuing along the Sunbury rail corridor as part of the Sunbury Line Upgrade and Gap Road level crossing removal.

There will be 24-hour works along the corridor involving multiple upgrades, rectifications and modifications.

Station precincts will be used for access to the track for the construction activities.

If travelling to the station to catch the replacement bus, be aware that areas of station parking may be closed for works purposes.

At Sunbury, the Gap Road level crossing removal and Sunbury Line Upgrade are continuing with crews working around the clock.

The new rail bridge is in place and following the excavation of 25,000 m3 of soil, the project is starting to build the road underpass and separated paths that will open to the public in October 2022.
