Recall: Orbea handlebar can break

A number of Orbea children's bikes have been recalled because the handlebar can break.

The models are Orbea MX 16, MX 20, and MX 24 and Orbea Laufey 20 H30.

Due to a manufacturing defect, the handlebars may break while the bicycle is being ridden and the rider may lose control of the bicycle, increasing the risk of an accident or injury.

Consumers should return the bicycle to the place of purchase to have the handlebar replaced, free of charge.

The 2021 models bikes were sold nationally from 1 Feb 2021 - 31 May 2021.

Each bicycle has a serial number printed on the frame downtube. Check this list of serial numbers.

The list of dealers who sold the bicycle is here.

For more information, consumers can contact Quartra Pty Ltd (trading as BikeBox) here. info@bikebox.com.au
