Sergeant Kym Lynch recently completed a bucket list challenge known as the "Three Peaks Challenge" in Falls Creek, Victoria.

This has been a five year dream for Sergeant Lynch after being inspired by a friend who also completed the challenge.

As part of her hill training, Sergeant Lynch made a couple of trips to Townsville.

The intense training also meant some early morning solo rides for the sergeant between her QPS shifts.

As the name suggests, this bicycle challenge included three peaks; Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek with 4300 meters climbing and a distance of 235kms.

Sergeant Lynch had 13 hours to complete this challenge, but because she is one tough female, she set herself a goal of under 10 hours in the hope of receiving a special jersey for completing the ride in this time – Sergeant Lynch really wanted this jersey!

Sergeant Lynch has made her five year dream a reality and completed Peaks Challenge Falls Creek.

Amazingly, Sergeant Lynch finished in nine hours and 10 minutes, the third female to cross the finish line.

Sergeant Lynch said the challenge was one of the toughest rides mentally and physically she had ever done.

“Drizzling rain, fog and freezing temperatures made me shiver uncontrollably and cramp up,” Sergeant Lynch said.

“I could not have done this without the support of family and friends and I will be forever be grateful.”
