Footy, bonfire bike valet parking on hand

Our bicycle valet parking is busy this weekend, with gigs at the Huon Valley Community Bonfire and the AFL at Blundstone Arena.

The Huon community bonfire is on Saturday 6 July, at the St James Church in Louisa Street, Ranelagh.

The community have got together to organise the bonfire night for locals to get together and enjoy each other’s company. Entry is by gold coin donation and there will be food, music, drinks and a really big fire!

The fire will be lit at 5 pm and Dwayne Everett-Smith will be on hand with his beautiful voice to welcome the flames.

We’ll be at the bonfire between 4 and 7 pm, so ride your bike and leave it in good hands while you enjoy the festivities.

Get to the footy on your bike

And on Sunday 7 July we are back at Blundstone Arena, this time for the North Melbourne versus St Kilda game starting at 1.50 pm.

Afternoon games are perfect for riding at this time of year as you only need your lights for the return home.

As Blundstone Arena is on the Clarence Foreshore trail it’s perfect for people coming from the eastern and western shores.

If it’s too far for you to ride the whole way, our map shows places that you can drive to, park and ride the rest of the way so you don’t have the hassle of finding a park closer to the ground.

Valet parking

Bicycle Network valet parking is offered free to riders and is run by our volunteers.

If you’d like to contribute your time to getting more people riding, sign up to volunteer on our register https://www.biketas.org.au/volunteer

You can give one hour or more, as often as you have the time.
