M41 water main renewal
Wellington Parade closure looms

The M41 water main project continues to cause disruption to bike traffic as it moves closer to the MCG.

The M41 Water Main Renewal Project will commence construction of the new main at the intersection of Wellington Parade and Clarendon Street, from Tuesday 11 June 2019.

The northbound lane of Clarendon Street will be closed between Wellington Parade and George Street until Friday 28 June 2019 as initial excavation begins.

And Wellington Parade will be closed to through traffic in both directions at the Clarendon Street intersection from Tuesday 11 June 2019.

Inbound and outbound traffic will detour via Wellington Parade South. Works will be performed continuously for 24 hours per day.

The project anticipates reopening Wellington Parade to all vehicles by 6:00pm on Friday 21 June 2019.

Traffic controllers will be on duty at each work location to ensure traffic and pedestrians can navigate around the worksite safely during working hours. Please follow the signage and directions and allow extra travel time.

Works on Clarendon Street will be performed during the day between 7:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday between 7:00am and 1:00pm.

During the closure of Wellington Parade, works will be performed on a continuous 24 hours a day basis until completed.
