TASTE bike riders win when they park

Bicycle Network Tasmania is providing free bicycle valet parking at the Taste of Tasmania, offering the chance to win a day’s electric bike hire for two from Cranke.

“We’re pleased the City of Hobart has decided to subsidise bicycle parking to encourage patrons to choose a healthy and hassle-free way to get to the Taste,” Public Affairs Adviser Alison Hetherington said.

“The waterfront in summer is chockers with people and driving and having to find a car park is something most people would like to avoid, if they can.

“The benefit of riding your bike is that you can indulge in all the delicious treats on offer and know you’ll be working off the calories as soon as you leave.”

“This year we’re giving people who park with us the chance to win a free day’s electric bike hire for two courtesy of Cranke.

“Bicycle Network is encouraging people to try an electric bicycle because they have the potential to be used for short trips to work, school, shops and services.

“Electric bicycles help people ride faster and further, flatten Hobart’s hills and help you arrive at your destination without working up a sweat,” Ms Hetherington said.

The Bicycle Network parking tent will be near the Taste’s main entrance at the corner of Murray and Morrison streets.

The bicycle valet parking will operate every day of the Taste of Tasmania, 10.30am – 8pm, except for New Year’s Eve when it will close at 4pm.
