Bicycle Network is running a webinar series in partnership with Maurice Blackburn about your rights and what you’re entitled to if you’re unlucky enough to crash while riding your bike.

WEBINAR 1: 

Know your rights and entitlements as a bike rider –
crashes involving motor vehicles

When: 5-6pm, Wednesday 24 March, 2021 

Who: Natalie Flemming, Senior Associate, Road Accident injuries, Maurice Blackburn (Melbourne office) and Bicycle Network CEO Craig Richards. 

What: This seminar will provide a greater understanding of your legal rights and entitlements as a bike rider, should you be in a crash involving a motor vehicle in Victoria.

The panel will focus on common scenarios such as left-hand turns, doorings and bike lane obstructions, and the compensations options available under the TAC to people who ride should you sustain an injury in a crash.

crashes not involving motor vehicles

When: 5-6pm, Wednesday 21 April 2021

Who: Dimi Ioannou, Principal Lawyer and Practice Group Leader at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers. Dimi is in charge of the firm’s Public and Product Liability team in Melbourne and is an accredited specialist in personal injury law. Representatives from Bicycle Network.

What: This seminar will provide a greater understanding of your legal rights and entitlements as a person riding a bike, should you be in a crash not involving a motor vehicle.

The panel discussion will focus on the common risks facing people who ride including tram tracks, bike paths and construction zones.
