The Powercor Tour de Depot Warrnambool 2017 Time Trial will start at 8:00am, with a pre-race briefing at 7.45am.

The Time Trial distance is approximately 20km in length starting and finishing at Lake Pertobe on Pertobe Road. The route will consist of four laps of an anti-clockwise route that will take riders along the waterfront and over Merri River.

By registering to participate in the Powercor Tour de Depot Warrnambool, you are contributing 100% of your entry fee directly to the Leila Rose Foundation.

Who can enter into the event?

The Time Trial is open to all types of riders, as long as you’re 15+ of age you can enter. There will be two separate races, one for males and one for females.

What kind bike do I need to participate in the time trial?

You can do a time trial on any type of bike as long as it is in good working order, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a Road bike or TT-specific bike.

Is there any specific equipment that I need?

The items you require is any type of bike and a helmet. While it’s not compulsory it is a good idea to have a water bottle too. It’s important that you feel comfortable on the bike, so make sure you wear clothes that you are easily able to move in, lycra is not compulsory.

Is this a race?

Yes, it is. You will be individually timed, with your overall result compared to the other participants in your group.

Is there a starting procedure?

Yes, cyclists will be released individually one minute apart on a small starting ramp. If you don’t feel comfortable with starting on the ramp, that’s not a problem we can arrange for you to begin on the road instead.

Is there a time limit?

The only time restriction is that riders finish by 9:45am to ensure the route is clear for the Community Ride to begin at 10.00am.

What does it cost to enter?

The cost to enter the Time Trial for BN Members (14 August – 20 August) is $40, then for Early Bird (21 August – 13 October) is $50 and Standard Ticketing (14 October – 15 October) will be $65. Entry also includes free family entry into the Community Ride. You can enter online or on the day of the event at the registration marquee.

How many riders will enter into the event?

As you can register into the Time Trial up until the day of the event, we aren’t able to confirm the exact amount of participants. However, to give you an indication, last year we saw 58 male riders and 4 female riders compete in the 2016 Powercor Tour De Depot Shepparton Time Trial.

Is there a minimum age to participate?

Yes. Riders must be aged 15 years or older on the day of the ride.
