Day 5 – Queenstown to Wanaka

Arrow right

Today’s riding will include the challenging but beautiful climb through the Crown Ranges on the road to Wanaka.

Activities & highlights

Enjoy one last morning overlooking the stunning Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown. Today’s ride is challenging, but rewarding. We’ll follow the Queenstown Trail to the historical mining town Arrowtown for morning tea before tackling New Zealand’s highest road, the Crown Ranges.

Our lunch stop will be at the iconic Cardrona Hotel where we will enjoy a well-deserved lunch and drink before pedalling the remaining 24km to Wanaka. If you’re ready to put the legs up early, treat yourself to the afternoon off at the Cardrona Hotel and take our complimentary bus to Wanaka.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be welcomed to Wanaka the Maori way. We will experience the Haka performed up close and feel connected to the Central Otago region as we learn what the Haka truly means to New Zealand and its indigenous people.
