Day 6 – Wanaka to Treble Cone (return)

Arrow right

Ride alongside the magnificent Lake Wanaka en route to Treble Cone, one of the South Island’s major ski hubs in winter.

Activities & highlights

Try and keep your eyes on the road as we ride from Lake Wanaka to Treble Cone surrounded by tremendous scenery. On arrival back in Wanaka, indulge in homemade scones at Edgewater Resort before boarding the bus for Aoraki Mount Cook, New Zealand’s largest mountain.

Have your cameras ready for a spectacular drive after the ride. You will quickly see why Mount Cook National Park is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Area with beautiful glaciers, snow capped mountains and the beautiful Lake Pukaki.

When we get to Aoraki Mount Cook the afternoon will be yours to enjoy! Stretch your legs on a short hike through Hooker Valley to the Tasman Glacier, treat yourself to a helicopter ride over Aoraki Mount Cook or kick back and take in the spectacular views right from the comfort of your hotel.

An optional Big Sky Stargazing tour is the perfect way to experience the wonders of the International Dark Sky Reserve.
