Around the Bay
RACV 160km Rosebud return
The RACV 160km Rosebud return showcases Melbourne’s bayside suburbs as it journeys along Beach Road and Nepean Hwy.
RACV 160km Rosebud return riders start in Alexandra Gardens and heads through Mordialloc, Frankston, Mt Martha and the Mornington Peninsula to Rosebud before returning back to Melbourne.
The route includes arguably the most beautiful stretch of Port Phillip Bay – 17km of coastal riding between Safety Beach and Mornington. This section also includes 6.5km of closed roads between Safety Beach and Mount Martha.
The gradient is relatively flat with just over 800 metres of climbing. The steepest parts of the ride occur at Oliver’s Hill (600 metres of climbing at 6%), Balcombe Hill (roughly 2.4km of climbing at 4.4%), and a gradual climb with some rollers thrown in for 6km as you come out of Mornington and head towards Frankston.
