The perfect setting to raise a glass and celebrate a weekend of cycling
Orange is a bike riding paradise - spectacular scenery, quiet country roads, welcoming local hospitality and famous food and wine. So to celebrate and showcase this hidden gem, we're throwing a free two-day Food and Wine Festival to go along with the ride.
We've lined up the region's renowned local restaurants, breweries and wineries to share and showcase their wares, all within the centre of the Orange Velodrome.
And there's plenty to keep you, your family and support crew entertained too.
After indulging in the region's best produce, you can relax and unwind with a post-ride massage or sit back and enjoy some live music while the kids have a go on the jumping castle, BMX pump track or get their faces painted.
On Saturday 4 March, we'll also be running our first kids charity ride which will see kids pedal 4km along local bike paths. Entry is a gold coin donation and all funds raise go towards local charity Give Me 5 for Kids.
Locals, riders, friends and family are all welcome!
Free Food and Wine Festival
The Finish Line Festival will complement the Newcrest Orange Challenge with a selection of boutique wines, craft beers and outstanding local food sourced from the Orange region.
Entry is completely free and open to the public. Riders participating in the Newcrest Orange Challenge are scheduled to arrive at the Velodrome just as the festival kicks off on Sunday – be part of the atmosphere as riders join the festival at the finish line.
All riders who signed up during the early bird period, before Friday 16th of December will have their kits posted out to them in mid February.
All other kits can be collected from the festival on Saturday 4th of March from 12 noon to 5pm. During this time the Bicycle Network team will be on hand to answer all of your questions and some of our wave leaders will pop in for a chat too. At 5pm we'll hold a rider briefing and give you all the information you need for the big day.
