Hendersons Drain Trail closed

The Hendersons Drain Trail will be closed near the confluence with the Darebin Creek until the end of next year.

As works continue with the Childs Road upgrade, the project has started to build a retaining wall and a connection to the path along the Hendersons Road Drain.

During this time, you can access the walking and cycling path via Bowman Drive and Patmore Court.

The Childs Road upgrade includes a new road bridge at the Darebin Creek, and a new passage under Childs Road for the Darebin Trail, which will use a section of the Hendersons Trail as a connection.

Because of the terrain along the Darebin Creek bank, a lengthy retaining wall is required.

Please follow detour signage in place.

Riders should also note installation of new temporary traffic lights at Bowman Drive.

The existing roundabout is being removed to install temporary traffic lights at the Bowman Drive intersection to help move traffic safely while work starts to build new lanes and a new bridge over Darebin Creek.

A permanent signalised intersection will be installed later in the project.

Please observe directional signage and be mindful of changed traffic conditions in the area.
