pedal pacer recall
Recall: Pedal Pacer off the pace

A serious defect has forced the recall of the Pedal Pacer 2 flat bar bicycle sold by 99 Bikes.

The front wheel can pop out of the fork if the quick release skewer is not properly tightened.

If this occurs while the user is riding the bicycle, there is an increased risk of an accident or serious injury to the rider.

Front hub retention is a requirement of the 'Trade Practices Act 1974 - Consumer Protection Notice No. 6 of 2004 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Pedal Bicycles: Safety Requirements.

Consumers should stop using the bicycle immediately and contact their local 99 Bikes retailer to have a replacement fork fitted, a free upgrade to the Pedal Cavalier, or a full refund.

Details on locations can be found here.

The bikes were sold nationally by 99 Bikes between 1 December 2020 - 31 March 2021.
