Approval for Bulleen Park and Ride
Approval for Bulleen Park and Ride

Formal approval has been given for the construction of a major bus station at Bulleen on the Koonung Creek Trail.

Work on the facility—to serve the forthcoming dedicated bus way along the Eastern Freeway—will start soon.

The park and ride will have storage for 370 cars as well as an initial 26 bikes with options for further bike spaces later.

The busway is included in the North East Link project, along with a number of new bike routes in the north-east.

Bike riders will be able to ride directly to the park and ride.

The illustration shows that the bike route traverses the ‘green roof’ of the park and ride before descending to connect up with the trail.

As the park and ride is being constructed in advance of the North East Link contract, many details of the bike connections are still to be determined.

There are likely to be some disruptions to local routes during construction.

Bulleen Park & Ride is expected to be open by late 2022.

The final approval of the project includes a number of changes, including the addition of a bicycle repair station and extra bench seating.
