Gardiners Creek goes up to Glenferrie

A short section of the Gardiners Creek Trail will be closed near Glenferrie Road during off-peak hours next Monday.

Some inspections were held last week, however wet weather caused a delay and follow-up work will be completed on Monday 19 April.

Routine inspections are being carried out on the Glenferrie Road bridge that sits above the creek and trail and below the Citylink freeway. The trail needs to be closed so workers can look at the underside of the bridge.

A minor detour will be set up to direct people from the trail up to Glenferrie Road. You will be able to use a signalised crossing that sits slightly south of the freeway to cross the road before heading back down to the trail on existing paths.

The work is being conducted by engineering company SMEC, formerly known as the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation.

Detours will be active from 10am to 3pm on Monday 19 April 2021.

The Gardiners Creek trail detour will use this crossing over Glenferrie Road.
