Intermittent closures along Djerring Trail

Sections of the Djerring Trail between Caulfield and Sandown Park will be restricted intermittently until the end of February.

The Metro Tunnel Project is installing next-generation High Capacity Signalling trackside equipment and associated technology.

This will require machinery access and material delivery into the rail corridor.

The shared user path will remain accessible, but to enable cables and equipment to be installed safely, traffic management will be in place to safely divert riders and pedestrians around machinery.

The closures will be clearly signed.

The works will bode from Monday 11 January to Sunday 28 February 2021, 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturdays.

There may be some night works (10pm to 7am) undertaken on the viaducts when trains are not running during February 2021.

Works will require the use of machinery including a non-destructive digging truck, excavator, dump truck, street sweeper, hi-rail machinery, trucks, hand tools, light vehicles, lighting towers, drilling rigs, generator, cable truck and winch trailer.
