Work will start later this month on the new bridge that will take the Federation Trail over the Westgate Freeway inbound exit ramp at Williamstown Road.
This structure the run alongside the Freeway over Williamstown Road and railway lines, taking the Federation Trail down to the Yarra at Hyde Street.
Works will include:
- Piling to support the new SUP bridge
- Constructing piers to support the new SUP bridge
- Installing precast beams and concrete pours to create the SUP bridge deck
The space required for the works will mean the ongoing closure of the SUP that runs over Stony Creek and through the reserve at the eastern end of Fogarty Avenue.

Riders should also note that there will be continuing works on Fogarty Avenue and on the road link under the freeway to The Avenue in Spotswood.
