Disruptions along Station Street

Level crossing removals will have considerable ongoing impacts along Station Street between Aspendale and Carrum.

Work crews are ramping up for major construction and new stations at Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach.

The bike lanes in the street will disappear in sections as worksite are established, services relocated and piling gets underway.

As the grade separations will be done by trenching the rail under the roads in what is wet and sandy soil, the civil engineering works required are extensive, intensive, and prolongued.

There will be disruptions to traffic until the middle of next year.

The street will be speed limited to 40kmh.

There will also be impacts on the Nepean Highway, on the other side of the rail line.

The good news is when all the works are finished an off-road the Bay Trail will be extended south along Station Street to Frankston.
