There will be a short detour on the Maribyrnong Trail for several days next week.
Starting on Wednesday contractors for Melbourne Water will have a drilling rig in operation in Avondale Heights that will require riders to navigate a brief detour.
This will be along the gravel segment of the trail, near the existing pipe bridge crossing of the river.
The works are part of a geotechnical investigation for a future new gravity sewer in Avondale Heights that will connect to the existing Maribyrnong River Main Sewer.
Traffic management will be in place to guide riders and pedestrians.
