La Trobe Street closure

The eastbound lanes of La Trobe Street—including the bike lane—will be closed to traffic for three weeks due to work on the Metro Tunnel project.

The closures will support the construction of the underground passenger connection between Melbourne Central Station and the future State Library Station.

There will be no through access for motorists or people on bikes to Swanston Street travelling eastbound during these closures

The northern footpath on La Trobe Street will remain closed adjacent to the La Trobe Street site

Traffic management will be in place to safely guide pedestrians, riders, and motorists around the work areas

The closure will be from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Fridays and 7am to 1pm, Saturdays, between Monday 27 July and Wednesday 19 August 2020.

As in previous closures for the project, a detour turns at Queen Street, then Lt Lonsdale Street and back along Russell Street.
