William Street bike lane works

The bike lane in William Street in the CBD will be impacted by kerb and paver works from next Tuesday, 14 April.

The southbound bike lane will be partially closed at Little Collins Street and Bourke Street for about three weeks until 8 May.

Works will be undertaken between 7am and 4pm.

The William Street bike facilities south of La Trobe Street have been greatly improved as a result of the project to install easy access trams stops, which also included the provision of new bike lanes.

However, it has been obvious that the job is not yet completed.

Additional elements are be the responsibility of the City of Melbourne and they are expected to be done during this year.

When totally finished, riders will be able to celebrate the new William Street as a major addiction to the CBD’s core bike routes.
