Swanston Street disruption this week

Riders will need to be alert as they head into the city from the south this week.

Melbourne Metro Tunnel project will be working on the street outside their worksite opposite St Paul’s Cathedral.

The project is installing traffic control gates on the street and footpath.

The boom gates will seperate bike riders and pedestrians from trucks turning in and out of the worksite.

At busy times pedestrians may spill out on to the road avoiding the works.

When that happens take extra care and follow exactly the directions of the traffic controllers.

If the road is wet, swerving across the trams tracks to avoid the throng could bring you seriously unstuck.

The works should be completed on Friday.
