A bike seat-bag has been recalled because it may detach and become entangled in the rear wheel and cause a crash.
The Revelate Designs Terrapin 14L System Bike Seat Bag is especially designed for bike packing — a form of lightweight off-road touring where the bikes is fitted with frame and seat bags.
The recalled bag is described as a modular, waterproof seat pack with a removable drybag allowing for easy off the bike packing
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a recall notice because if either of the rear hooks on the seat bag loosen or break, the bag may detach from its loops.
"If the seat bag detaches or loosens from its loops, the bag may entangle in the bicycle's rear wheel, potentially causing serious injury to the rider and other road users,” the ACCC said.
Consumers should cease using the product immediately and return to Abbotsford Cycles for repairs. Return shipping labels will be provided at no cost.
