Wellington Street detour
As the Wellington Street bike lane extension project continues, riders should make sure they are aware of the recommended detours during the works. Details can be found here:
Kanes Bridge temporary closure — Monday 17 June to Friday 28 June 2019
Kanes Bridge in Kew will temporarily close for essential painting works during June 2019. Closures will occur on weekdays between 9.00am to to 4:00pm from Monday 17 June to Friday 28 June. Suggested alternate routes are indicated on this map.
Changes to Nepean Highway, Carrum — Wednesday 19 - Wednesday 26 June 2019
Due to construction work by the Level Crossings Removal Authority at Carrum there will be a series of changes to the road alignment in the coming month.
This week there will be asphalting and line marking works on the Nepean Hwy between Eel Race Rd and Stephens St in preparation for lane configuration changes, parking changes and a long term speed reduction.
Riders should be alert to the changes as motorists may take time to adjust.
Old Beechy Rail trail temporary closure
The Old Beechy Rail Trail is temporarily CLOSED from Kawarren to Ferguson while the Colac Otway Shire Council discusses conditions of access with four landowners in this section.
Brunswick: Upfield path at Jewell railway station – January 2018 to October 2019
Works as part of the Neometro project at Jewell Station will result in the Upfield bike path being closed for almost years between Barkly Street and Union Street.
Bike riders will be redirected via an off-ramp at Barkly Street, around Black Street and Wilson Avenue before rejoining the bike path at Union Street.
There will be cars using these streets during this time.
Extra care should be taken on Wilson Avenue which has blind corners.
