Fred Jung: As mates or not at all

Fred Jung shared his inspirational short story from Peaks Challenge Falls Creek 2019 with us following the ride:

Four of us signed up for Peaks Challenge Falls Creek 2018, but six weeks out from the ride our mate unfortunately had a serious road bike accident.

He required two operations and was off the bike for six months. He insisted that we go on and do Peaks Challenge without him, but we were firm in our position: we do it as mates or not at all.

So, we registered for Peaks Challenge Falls Creek 2019.

Our mate who had the accident in 2018 made it and completed it in 12hrs 9minutes. He was nothing short of inspirational to us, and three out of the four of us made it to the finish line.

I held my mate's hand as we crossed the line. Words can not describe the feelings. We had tears were in our eyes.
