Tassie news bites

TASTE parking winner

Congratulations to Nick Watkins who won our TASTE of Tasmania bike valet parking competition.

Nick wins e-bike hire from Cranke for two people on their awesome mountain e-bikes or town bikes.

And thank you to everyone who used the bike valet parking. We had a big increase in bikes parked compared to the past few years, which will hopefully secure a spot for us at future festivals.

Work underway on Hobart Rivulet Path extension

Work has begun on the new paved section of the Hobart Rivulet path which will help riders avoid having to ride on McKellar Street.

The City of Hobart has been able to extend the path after it aquired a house block on McKellar Street.

The new path runs beside the Korean Grove Memorial which in the past was accessed by a gravel path with a steep ramp up to McKellar Street.

Rivulet Path blocked at Female Factory

Also along the Rivulet Path there is a blocked section at Syme Street, near the Female Factory.

The path has been blocked off due to some visible erosion along the banks.

We are checking with the City of Hobart as to how long this will take to fix and if they are going to put up detour signs so new path users know where to go.
