Take two wheels to the tennis

If you're planning on going to the Australian Open at Melbourne Park over the next two weeks, why not rethink your transport and ride a bike instead of taking public transport or driving?

With the Main Yarra Trail and refurbished Swan Street Bridge right next to Melbourne Park, riding a bike is super easy and means you can avoid packed and sweaty trams and expensive car parks.

Bike parking locations

There are two official bike parking locations near entrances to the Australian Open – one at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Batman Avenue and another near the Tanderrum Bridge.

Public bike parking in other spots can also be used, such as near the MCG in Yarra Park, but this a longer walk to the tennis entrance points.

Melbourne Bike Share

If you're a visitor to Melbourne or don't have a bike of your own you can also use a blue Melbourne Bike Share bike to get to the tennis.

There is a parking dock outside Melbourne Park near the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Batman Avenue, and with other docks dotted all around the city, it is easy to get to the tennis from anywhere.
