Claude Road and Tasmazia ride

This 40km loop, beginning and ending in Sheffield, features the majestic Mt Roland as a backdrop for the first leg and delicious lunch stop.

The route takes Claude Road from Sheffield to Cethana where we switch on to Staverton and West Kentish roads back into town.

As well as seeing Mt Roland, you’ll pass by Gowrie Park, Mt Roland Regional Reserve and the Promised Land.

Starting at 917 feet, the ride rises to a peak of 1184 feet, before starting to descend at about the 27km mark.

To celebrate the achievement we’ll be stopping for a light lunch at Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot.

We’ll be leaving at 11am on Sunday 30 September, meet 10 minutes before in the IGA supermarket car park in Sheffield, and returning at about 2pm.

Please RSVP to Roger Nichols so you can be contacted if the ride has to be cancelled due to bad weather.

This ride is being offered as part of Bicycle Network Tasmania’s social rides program. Social rides are free and organised by volunteers to help other people meet new people, learn new skills and gain confidence on their bikes.
