Beach Road works on the move

The relining of the Brighton sewer continues to creep along Beach Road, with riders needing to be alert to further location changes over the next two weeks.

The next section is between the Brighton bathing boxes car park and Brighton Baths southern car park entrance.

Work will take place over the week from 6pm Sunday to 4.30am Saturday, leaving Beach Road open for weekend cyclists and other vehicles.

Twenty four hour lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place.

There will be a trench across St Kilda Street at Grosvenor Street from Wednesday 11 July to Friday 13 July, from 7am to 5pm.

Associated works will be undertaken on Beach Road between North Road and South Road as well as on side streets.

The contractors will complete the installation of the final stage of the temporary bypass pipeline along the foreshore and on the Bay Trail bike path, from Bay Street northward for approximately 170 metres to where the median strip separates the walking and bike paths.

Bike riders should take extra care for their own safety, as well as the safety of other users.

More custom built ramps over the pipeline will be provided to maintain pedestrian and riders.
