Albert Park
Goodbye City Road, hello Albert Park

This year’s Around the Bay is mixing it up and moving to Melbourne’s Albert Park.

Following rider feedback and a clash with Burnley Tunnel works, the timing was right to make the move from Melbourne’s Alexandra Gardens to Albert Park.

Most importantly, the change to Albert Park means that Around the Bay riders won’t have to deal with the challenging conditions of City Road, particularly at the end of the day.

It also means less congestion, stunning views over Albert Park Lake, better access to a new-look event village, a closed lane for the start of the ride and an improved finish line for everyone.

All 10 Around the Bay ride options will be tweaked to fit the new location, but we promise that they will still be the rides that you love.

Only three kilometres from the heart of the city, Albert Park is already popular with people who ride bikes, making it the perfect place to host our new-look Around the Bay event village.

Over the coming weeks we will be working closely with Parks Victoria, City of Port Phillip and VicRoads to finalise the exact details of changed traffic conditions in the Albert Park area, and will have more information in July.
