Plenty Road detour
Plenty Road detours underway

As work ramps up on the Plenty Road duplication, bike route detours are now in place.

Riders heading out and back on the Kinglake circuit will be aware that the there are no on-road bike facilities during the road widening.

VicRoads and their traffic management advisors have worked out an alternative though the local streets in Bundoora.

Outbound, the detour begins at McKimmies Road and then takes Betula Avenue, Redleap Avenue, Centenary Drive, Bradley Drive and Oleander Drive before rejoining Plenty Road through McDonalds Road.

Inbound, riders take Development Boulevard, Diosma Way, Telopea Crescent, Blossom Park Drive, Jubilee Crescent, Janefield Drive and rejoining Plenty Road via Ormond Boulevard.

The $139 million project now underway will add an extra lane and upgrade intersections and pedestrian and cycling facilities.

For further information on the project see Bicycle Network's report and updates from VicRoads.
