Tasmania Bike week
Bike Week needs your helping hands

Tasmanian Bike Week is on 3–11 March this year and Bicycle Network needs your help to make the events a success.

Volunteers are needed for the main Bike Week activities in Hobart:

Women on Wheels

Sunday 4 March, 10 for 10.30am start, Salacia Avenue, Wentworth Park South, Howrah

Women on Wheels is a 20km ride aimed at giving women the confidence to undertake longer bike rides.

If you can marshall, take registrations, staff our information desk, put up signs, mentor new riders or distribute posters and flyers then contact Dorothy on mccartney.dorothy@gmail.com or 0421 103 257.

Super Tuesday Bike Count

Tuesday 6 March, 7–9am, Greater Hobart

There are still sites left across Hobart for the Super Tuesday bicycle rider count. By volunteering just two hours of your time you can help Bicycle Network provide important information to local governments to help them plan bicycle infrastructure. Register at www.SuperTuesday.com.au

E-bike Expo

Sunday 11 March, 10 am – 2 pm, Regatta Grounds, Hobart

E-bikes are becoming more popular and why not? They are fast and help make the steepest hills achievable. Bicycle Network is bringing together e-bike sellers and hirers to provide information to potential riders.

If you would like to marshall, staff the valet bike parking and information desk or provide general support and poster distribution, contact Matthew on ebiketas@bicyclenetwork or 0405 508 155.

Other events during Bike Week include:
  • Kingborough Treasure Hunt bicycle ride: Sunday 4 March
  • Wynyard Foreshore Market riding advice and bicycles to try: Sunday 4 March
  • Turners Beach Fun: Wednesday 7 March
  • E-bike Convoy: Sunday 11 March
