Detours and closures

Elephant Pass Road Temporary Road Closure 20 & 21 November 2017

Elephant Pass Road will be closed to traffic due to essential road reseal works from:

  • 8:15 am to 5:30 pm on Monday 20 November; and
  • 8:15 am to 5:30 pm on Tuesday 21 November 2017.

The road will be closed from the southern side of the Mount Elephant Pancakes entrance and Mt Elephant Road. Traffic will be detoured via the Tasman Highway and St Marys Pass. Traffic can still access Mt Elephant Pancakes from the northern end of Elephant Pass Road. See attached detour map.

Local residents will be able to access their properties and school buses will be guided through the site safely, however delays may to be experienced. 

Esk Main Road in St Marys township - Night works 22, 23 & 24 November 2017

Road reseal works will take place on Esk Main Road in the St Marys township between Clive Street and Franks Street, between the times of:

  • 6:00 pm Wednesday 22 November to 6:00 am Thursday 23 November;
  • 6:00 pm Thursday 23 November to 6:00 am Friday 24 November;
  • 6:00 pm Friday 24 November to 6:00 am Saturday 25 November 2017.

Night works will commence at 6:00 pm each night and continue until 6:00 am the next day and have been scheduled to minimise inconvenience on this busy road.

Midland Highway Southern Outlet in Launceston - Night works 28 & 29 November 2017

Road reseal works will take place on the Midland Highway, Southern Outlet in Launceston in the southbound lanes between Wellington Street and Pipeworks Road, between the times of:

  • 6:30 pm Tuesday 28 November to 6:00 am Wednesday 29 November;
  • 6:30 pm Wednesday 29 November to 6:00 am Thursday 30 November.

Traffic will be detoured via Wellington Street to Pipeworks Road and then back onto the Midland Highway. See detour map attached.

For all above road works sites: in the case of an emergency, emergency vehicles will be guided through the site safely. The work site will be clearly sign posted and traffic controllers will be on site to direct traffic accordingly. To ensure the safety of road users and construction staff, please obey all traffic signs.  Please allow extra time for travelling through these works.
