Tasmania ebike ride_Nov2017
Pedalling the benefits of ebikes

Bicycle Network joined the Tasmanian branch of Australian Electric Vehicle Association for a five-day ebike ride along Tasmania’s east coast.

Starting in Hobart on Saturday 4 November, the group of ebike enthusiasts travelled 390 kilometres through the towns of Sorell, Triabunna, Little Swanport, Swansea, Campbell Town, Cressy, Deloraine and Railton, finishing in Devonport on Wednesday 8 November.

Blessed with clear skies and sunshine, riders took the chance to chat with locals and anyone with an interest about the benefits of ebikes for people of all ages.

This Saturday 11 November, the same riders will be wrapping up their ride at the Shannons Insurance Electric Vehicle Display at Roundhouse Park on the Devonport Waterfront.

From 10am-2pm, there will be a range of ebikes on display, including those that were ridden from Hobart alongside brand new ones.

There will also be an area set aside for people to take an ebike for a spin. It’s a great opportunity to find the right kind of ebike that suits you

Ebikes are growing in popularity across the world as they not only offer an extra bit of assistance but confidence and accessibility for people of all ages and fitness levels. They offer a great way for people to get back on the bike while keeping active and mobile.
