The fatality stats for car vs ped add up to 373 over the past 6 years as opposed to 1 (now, tragically, 2) for bike vs ped in the same period.
That statistic alone must explain why people get so extraordinarily anti-cyclist when such an event happens.
I'll just pop off to a search engine to find the 373 threads of vitriol labelling all drivers irresponsible hooligans...
Got my rego bill yesterday. TAC premium=$366. Divide that by the frequency above and the appropriate TAC premium for all us free loading parasites come to $0.98. That's an interesting answer next time that topic comes up.
It's also interesting to note that, based on my personal observations last night walking between trams and car/office, all Jaguar drivers are irresponsible idiots and so are all pedestrians - I saw one of each run a red so they must all be bad.
