Back at work now, and one of my work colleague's had this interesting view of a car driver's vision of the riders:
Sue was driving from St Helen's to Piper's Brook, on the Sunday, day 2 of the ride when we travelled from Piper's Brook to Branxholm.
She saw the start of the tent city in Branxholm, surprised at how many tents were already there at 1 p.m.
Driving from Branxholm to Scottsdale, she stated:
There were groups of cyclists on the side of the road taking photo's,
groups of cyclists on the side of the road having a chat, having a drink or having a snack, there were many people of varying ages walking up the hills, and there was the occasional person pedalling up the hills!
Sue stated we seemed a very sociable bunch, and after seeing all the FUN! and hearing my stories, a Great Tassie Bike Ride is now on her list of things to do.
She stopped at the Piper's Brook Vineyard later in the day, and stated that she couldn't tell that over 1000 people had camped there the night before!
