It could possibly work, but for this event it's just too late. Main Roads' event traffic manager is coming on the event as part of our organising team so there's no time to get it done. Perhaps next time it rolls around we can think ahead. This first event is a learning experience for everyone and there's so much we will take away from it.
By the time we get there (we're really only talking Mt Henry bridge to Narrows as has-been roadies
don't like to stray too far from the coffee shops) the packs will have finished their rides. Yes there will be walkers etc and people will need to take care, but we will get some signage up to advise of the pending cyclists on the day.
As much as I love to verbally stoush with roadies at how weak they are hiding in their packs, I will stand united in your views on cars' attitudes to us. But changing attitudes takes time, and major disruptions so close together is not ideal. People south of the river are annoyed enough from the rail works, we don't want them taking out their frustrations at all the good cyclists, or even roadies for that matter
