Ah this is my topic
I loathe eating sweet stuff hour after hour, so did quite a bit of experimenting with savoury foods.
Garmin rice cakes (basically rice carbonara, but really nice and easy to package in foil, or small zip-lock bags. If you accidentally sit on them and they moosh up, then you just squeeze it out
Sandwiches made with Pide that can be cut to whatever shape, doesn't crumble, is yummy etc. My favourite combination was hummus and ham - enough moisture to be easy to swallow when riding and a good source of protein.
Cold baked potatoes - I would slice them in half and sandwich them with a bit of butter and some salt. Yum.
Mini Babybel cheeses! I don't think I ever ate them while riding, but they're good for stops.
WRT pouches of baby food, my 'favourite' of the savoury ones is the Rafferty's Garden tuna and rice one. Yes they don't have any salt, but they're pretty good for savoury food intake
I've never gone out of my way eat one myself, but we've used a few of them as emergency baby food when out and about and I always taste them to make sure I'm not giving them something vile
The chocolate custard one is pretty good!
SPC does pouches of apple puree etc. but annoyingly not just apple, they're all apple with something added that makes it taste really fake. Why reinvent the wheel?
Up'N'Go do squeezy yoghurt + extras pouches which are nice and filling too.
Still a cyclist, albeit one who never rides any more....
