Looking forward to the 50km.
Planning on doing the same I did for the MAD (MTB route) ride in March - riding the 13kms to the start/finish from my parents place nearby.
I’m picking up the registration pack the Saturday night beforehand soI’ll most likely be riding in the event’s jersey that I coughed up the extra $ for.
Apparently there will be 3x waves for the 50kms, depending on how serious you’ll be taking the race, so I’ll be down the back with the sightseers. Nevertheless, if the opportunity presents itself & the planets line up, I’ll be sure to take up to 11 & scorch some singletrack.
I’m running my dry tyres (Hutchison Cobras) & I don’t think I’ll be needing my arm warmers or vest apart from the ride to the start. I’m loving my CamelBak Charge LR hydration pack , being my constant companion on any ride (road or dirt) that required more than a phone & a gilet. It’ll have about a litre of water & I’ll run a biddon of Endura, as well as toobs, pump etc. Bringing CO2 canisters, but only as a last resort.
Not sure how stocked the rest stops will be, so I’ll have some dates & a gel just in case.
To all the other riders going - may the line you choose, always be the right one.

good work, must have been hard riding past broken bikes without offering some advice - that's a great time on that course, it's a pretty tough workout with all that single track to maneuver through. I would have done this event but I had a run event on, hoping to sign up for this one, fondo - you'd crack a good time on the fondo coming off a 100k mtb.The Duckmeister wrote:Well I got the 100.
Wombat 100, rode the 50km in vets.
Loved the singletrack, hated the two-track & gravel rd climb.
