If you're looking for another alpine cycling adventure, we offer you the Audax Hotham Challenge.
Held on the March long weekend (Victoria and ACT), this event features three distances (200/135/70 km) and yes, two of them do include the climb of Mt Buffalo. The real challenge is the high altitude start for the longer distances (200/135 km) which means that the last 40 km of these rides includes the 30 km ascent of Mt Hotham. Please note: there are no pre-ride qualifications for this event and that the 200 km ride can be used as a qualifying ride for entry to the ACE250.
We understand that by 10 March the bushfire near Harrietville is not likely pose a threat to ride participants. In the current circumstances, we suggest that you take up this offer of discounted entry and delay booking your accommodation until conditions are more settled.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to run the the ride you have chosen when entering the Audax Hotham Challenge, you will receive a full refund of your Ride Entry fee.
Click here and use your Alpine Classic rider number or your Audax Australia membership number to claim a $20 discount on the Ride Entry fee for this event...and double your chances to win a trip to the 2013 Tour de France. This prize will be drawn on Sunday10 March at the end of the Audax Hotham Challenge.
