Is all you need a Joomla3 install, config, and import from your old site? Or do you actually need a custom template built? (moar work)
Joomla3, eh? Oh yeah, look what happened as soon as I turned my back. I was still trying to get my head around the differences between 1.5 (or whatever it was that I used for Cargo Cycles) and this newfangled 2.5.
I was reckoning on taking a free/open template and sticking our own logo in it.
Well, that's pretty much what I managed to do to get where we are now, by corrupting the default template (might also have changed some colours? Can't remember, must have been drunk at the time).
I haven't been able to figure out how to put a background watermark-style logo image into the template, but that may just be that I haven't been drunk enough at the time
Basically, I just need a worked example to copy off, of what a sensibly structured site looks like when you strip away and delete all the clever stuff that they include in the example sites to show what the system is capable of.
Wordpress? Hmmm. I really should look into that. I learned a bit about CMSs in ~2008, and went Joomla over Drupal because it looked easier and more widely used... and really haven't followed since. It seemed like Joomla was still very much a thing when I had to set up the PKSFA site, so I went with it, even though it's way more than we need. If Wordpress is simple enough, I might even be smart enough to do it by myself
