The two block section of Albert Street between Hoddle and the start of the bicycle lane is my least favourite part of my commute. Yes, even worse than the Collins St gutter lanes (okay, maybe not). All these stupid cars who think they're being sneaky by going down Albert Street. They get stuck at the intersection due to cars on Hoddle Street blocking the intersection and then think they can speed all the way up Albert - so they get annoyed at any poor snail blocking their gods-given road (even though I was travelling at around 30kph).
I had another annoying idiot this morning who didn't know the road rules and who tailgated and honked me for claiming the lane. I made a sweeping gesture to go around me (which strangely enough he was able to do easily
). I saw him coming up behind me in my mirror so I moved to the middle of the left lane a bit more just to make sure there was going to be no buzzing.
How hard is it to plan, merge, pass, and move on with your life? I held him up for less than 10 seconds.
