so much advice was written on how to prepare for 3P and what to expect prior to the ride, yet nothing was mentioned about the Post 3P blues..... Its been 10 days and although I have had a few rides, both flat and hills, motivation to ride is at an all time low and legs are just dead...
So.. is anyone (or everyone) feeling the same and does anyone have the magic solution (apart from obviously having to HTFU)....
I always encourage people to set goals for the event following their goal event, before their goal event. There are a number of organisations that conduct grand fondo type rides, including Audax, BNV and now Cyclesport Victoria.
There is a Gran Fondo in April - the Beechworth Gran Fondo, with 173 and 85km options.
Keep an eye out for Come n Try days at DISC for trying your hand (or legs?) at track bike riding / racing.
Check out the various Audax, BNV and vic.cycling.org.au websites for up coming events.
Take up MTBing and look at doing some MTB racing (3, 6 and 12 hours are regular events and you can do pairs, triplets, etc and make it very social and doable).
Join up with a regular training bunch.
Winter is coming (or already here) so motivation to get out and train can be more difficult to generate as the mornings and evenings get darker and colder and wetter. But any combination of the above can help mitigate the waning of your fitness and training consistency.
