Always high on my list of why to have the insurance
I dragged the MTB handlebars half the length of a very shiny mercedes one day
Was riding down an empty left lane towards traffic lights, a tray truck was stopped in the queue in the right lane, driver decided to pull out into my path and a I bounced off the side of the truck and hit the merc. Truck disappeared around the corner leaving me with a sore right right shoulder and a lot of sparkly silver mercedes paint all over my left arm. Rather interesting discussion took place with a large stocky man in a dark suit and sunglasses who insisted I tell him where I live and when I'd be home, and to give him money on the spot "that'll cost you thousands you f*wit". Was pretty thankful thinking of the insurance but not liking his attitude, pulled out my phone and said "no problems, I'm going to give my details to the police" and he immediately shut up, got in and drove off.
Still, 3rd party property beats paying to spray paint a new mercedes.
