So I've always coveted the Paul components Gino light mount for mounting a light on the rack mounts on my front fork. It was always too expensive especially once shipping was added in
I have recently brought the PDW takeout basket which has a boss on the left hand side for a light. When reading the instructions I found some for a DIY mount: http://www.ridepdw.com/help/takeout%E2%84%A2-basket/694 which I thought I would share (click link for diagrams).
The parts aren't necessarily easy to comeby though so as an alternative I've found a Mr Control quick release axle light mount adapter at Velocycles which at $15 is almost as cheap as the DIY parts once shipped. The quick release axle thread is the same as the mount so a longer M5 bolt can hold them on.
Question: has anyone else created DIY light mounts? On my new bike I don't have a rear rack so am looking at options for holding a couple of lights on the rack mounts as my seatpost is taken up with a wedge pack with tools. An attempt with bunnings plastic chair ends wasn't very stable.
