Finally got my new light wired up and running yesterday
As with most of these dynamo lights (I believe), I had to provide and fit my own spade clips, trim my own wires etc. I also cover all my wiring and individual clips with heat-shrink-tubing to give it extra durability. Jaycar Electronic stores are a good source for all this stuff
First impressions? *
The new Ilumenox 'Vega' Dynamo light:
-is of similar 'brightness' to my older Ilumenox Vega rechargeable
-has a slightly wider and improved 'beam spread' than above (+)
-is slightly brighter than my old B&M 'Lumotec IQ Fly' (+)
-is slightly more focused/has less spread width than above
-doesn't have anywhere near as good a 'standlight' as the IQ Fly (--)
-is about half the local price of above - ($70 here
Apart from the meagre standlight feature, I'm more than happy with it. I will repair the broken mount on my IQ Fly as well as I can, and.....
(*are often the best)
Resistance ain't futile.....
